Job Summary
The HSE Operations Supervisor acts as the supervisory direct report for the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Representatives; reviews all reports filed by HSE Representatives and acts based on report findings; schedules and coordinates all HSE Representative team duties; and supervises HSE Representative training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the supervisory direct report for the HSE Representatives (i.e., performance management, corrective action, training, defining daily priorities, creating work schedules)
  • Manage time and attendance for the HSE Representatives, including timecard approval and paid time off requests
  • Oversee the hiring of HSE Representatives (i.e., collaborate with Human Resources recruiters, perform interviews, select qualified talent)
  • Review all reports filed by HSE Representatives and take appropriate action based on report findings.
  • Coach, mentor, and/or train Field HSE Representatives
  • Schedule HSE Representative duties (i.e., job site and yard inspections, new hire orientation, earth moving equipment training, incident response)
  • Supervise HSE Representative training and development
  • Ensure the proper completion and filing of all paperwork associated with HSE Representative training
  • Lead quarterly HSE Representative team meetings to discuss successes and areas for improvement
  • Conduct audits on HSE required daily tasks and processes
  • Actively enforces Life Saving Rules at the well-site with immediate intervention and correction for violations
  • Support implementation of HSE goals and initiatives
  • Keep current on the organization’s HSE policies, procedures, and other relevant workplace safety requirements (i.e., OSHA standards, State laws, customer requirements)
  • Assist with incident investigations as needed
  • Maintain compliance with HSE policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years oil and gas experience and 3 years of HSE experience
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
  • Strong leadership characteristics, able mentor, coach, track performance, enact corrective action, and delegate responsibilities for a team
  • The travel requirement for this position is approximately 20%
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively interact with customers, contractors, and personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize a workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong public speaking skills, able to pass knowledge to others in a classroom environment
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficient working in Microsoft Office 365 applications
