Job Summary

The Demand Planner plays a pivotal role in optimizing inventory to enhance service delivery to internal customers while maintaining optimal levels based on forecasts and budgetary guidelines. Responsibilities encompass forecasting demand, collaborating on SKU rationalization, and contributing to strategic inventory management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop inventory strategies to minimize out-of-stock and over-stock situations, prioritizing inventory plans accordingly
  • Review and monitor inventory levels, turnover rates, and demand patterns to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor backorders and lead time fluctuations, providing timely reports and proactive solutions
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions to address inventory challenges
  • Conduct item rationalization assessments, focusing on lead times and minimizing slow-moving inventory impacts
  • Update and maintain performance metrics, recommending and implementing changes to meet inventory and budget objectives
  • Conduct bi-annual Demand Segmentation to refine forecasting accuracy and enhance planning efficiency
  • Develop tools and processes to track and improve forecast accuracy, driving continuous improvement across the organization
  • Participate in additional projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Oversee the (E&O) process of reviewing, reporting, and tracking excess and obsolete inventory
  • Communicate inventory status and action plans to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in demand planning, inventory management, or a similar analytical role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business, Finance, or related field required
  • Must possess thorough understanding of supply planning, statistical models and calculating min/max levels for fast, medium, and slow-moving items
  • Strong leadership characteristics, advanced problem solving and analytical skills, and performance tracking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively across departments
  • Must be a team player who can work well with others to improve work processes
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient working in Microsoft Office 365 Applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
  • Knowledge of lean processes
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry preferred
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems preferred
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) or certified in supply chain planning (CSCP) is desirable
