As the Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, you will drive quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation; select suppliers through qualification processes; own supplier results, and drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards. Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed. Positions requiring thorough understanding and application of approaches, theories, methodologies and application in a concrete organizational context.

As a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, your responsibilities includes:

  • Project manage the execution of all Supplier Quality activities for assigned suppliers, such as (but not limited to): Supplier Qualification, Supplier Surveillance, Supplier nonconformance management resolution, Supplier’s project risk identification, Procurement strategy recommendations. Serve a project SQE as required for assigned projects.
  • Stimulate a Quality driven and Continuous Improvement mentality in supplier’s organization, with mutually trustful and proficient relationships.
  • Manage effective communication with internal Baker Hughes team (e.g. Procurement Buyers, Procurement Fulfillment Managers, Project Managers, Project Quality Managers, Project Engineers, etc.) and suppliers, to ensure quality and on-time delivery of supplied items.
  • Support Project Quality team in monitoring inspection dates and collecting vendor documentation, e.g. Manufacturing Data Records, TR&S certifications, etc.
  • Technical expediting on suppliers for the resolution of supplier’s punch lists, related to project’s quality inspection activities.
  • Supplier Deviation Request (SDR) management for assigned suppliers.
  • Supplier’s related Non-Conformity Record (NCR or SR) management for assigned suppliers
  • Cooperation with Project Supplier Quality Engineer in root cause analysis execution, lesson learned identification and implementation, supplier related CIR resolution.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Sourcing).
  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Electrical experience with LV MCC, MV SWGR, UPS, ATS equipment, and eHouses.
  • Mechanical experience with welding and assembly.
  • Resilience and ability to work under stress.
  • Highly motivated and able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Results driven and self-directed.
